Project Summary

Taking part in the project “`With or without you` – on regional, national and european identities”, 30 young people from 4 different organisations and initiatives from England, Scotland, Austria, and Germany for 16 months want to discuss the development of identities in Europe (eg. people seeing themselves as a Scot, a Brit, North European vs. Southern Europe). The link of the development of these identities to the economic development will also be of interest. On the one hand, this issue is complex enough on its own, on the other hand, it is indispensable for a Europe in solidarity which will also be discussed. Additionally, the exchange about this issue shall serve as a vehicle to further develop a network related to education policy. The regional working groups together reflect their youth educational work, they create concepts for public meetings during the workshop session of the three international meetings and they can exchange their experiences and their professional knowledge. Through public leaflets and brochures as well as on public meetings, the concrete learning results shall be presented already during the projects and thereby the new knowledge can be applied. At the same time, more material is created to be used for peer learning that can then together be evaluated. The results of the common learning processes should be useful for the educational work to come, and shall be documented for other interested organisations to be accessible as well.
