Project Summary

The project “Cooperation of European schools to produce, use and disseminate Open Educational Resources with the use of ICT” is run by four high schools. The Polish school coordinating the project – General High School No. 14 in Poznan, and partners: Bolvadin Anadolu Lisesi – a state general high school in Turkey, Liceul Tehnologic Economic de Turism Iaşi from Romania and technical high school with a culinary , touristic and economical profile from Italy Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Stendhal.
The main objective of the project was a broadly defined development of the students and the teachers of all partner schools, especially as ICT, mobile devices and modern technology are concerned.
Creating the project we intended to increase the level of education, develop the participants’ social and linguistic skills, enable free access to different sources of knowledge and equalize opportunities.
We believe such progress is not possible nowadays without using the trends prevailing in today’s world of education. If the teacher is supposed to successfully face the challenges of contemporary world they must not turn away from the direction it s heading. What is more, cooperation within such kind of a project does not only open both the students and the teachers to new possibilities and tools, it also broadens their linguistic and cultural horizons.
In our project we managed to carry out the following activities:
– 4 three-day Transnational Project Meetings,
– 4 short-term (lasting five days) student exchange mobilities
– we created 7 Intellectual Outputs
– we organized Multiplier Events
To accomplish all the project goals efficiently, we engaged the staff members and the students in many interesting activities between the mobility periods.
– during the first months of the project we organized the project logo contest
– each month all partner schools issued a multimedia monthly magazine in Glogster Edu. The magazine was a summary of all the activities carried out during a given month.
– we conducted research projects such as “Teenagers’ World” or “Project Journal”. The projects were implemented in international groups to develop students soft skills, like negotiating skills, cooperation skills and of course language skills.
– students also took part in an: “Erasmus+ short film contest”, which was a resume of the first year of the project.
– during each mobility we announced winners of the best multimedia posters – resumes of the mobility.
– mobility participants cooperated together sharing their work in Google tools.
– within the 24 – month project teachers created a lot of relevant open educational resources, which were made available to a wide audience on free licenses.
– students and teachers communicated by eTwinning platform and social networking sites. Thanks to this, we were able to promote the project and the idea of Erasmus + programme itself efficiently.
– we organized demonstration lessons, ICT workshops, we created and implemented interactive city games, bike trips based on the multimedia tour guides we produced, and many other things.
We believe we managed to reach the following goals:
– increase in the language competence and independence for both the students and the teachers
– openness to the culture and customs of other countries
– improving knowledge about the culture, history and traditions of the partner countries
– an increase in self-esteem
– improvement of the professional image of the teacher
– increase of competence in ICT
– enriching teachers’ working methods
– increased motivation for further development of students and teachers
– improvement of the academic performance of students
– learning tools for self-study
– learning the methods of learning in the partner countries
– becoming more attractive future employee on the labor market
– improving entrepreneurial skills.
We tried to reach as many recipients as possible. At first we designed the project internet website www.moderneducation.eu. We used social media, the schools internet websites, the eTwinning platform, Edmodo, Glogster Edu and many other educational websites, media and newsletters to reach that goal. We could feel the positive feedback from the very beginning but now when the whole two years of the project finished we are fully aware of the benefits we gained. We know the project made us far more attractive educational facilities. We were granted the eTwinning Quality Label for “a perfectly organized project with a great topic, well organized international cooperation and interesting outputs”. Moreover, our school managed to set up one more class, which truly is the sign of a success in the period of population decline.
