Project Summary

The main problems addressed by our project are:
1. Members and coordinators of Municipal Youth Councils have lack of methodological support.
2. Hard work of Municipal Youth Councils is not recognized in the society
3. Municipal Youth Councils are missing a tool for sharing of experience and resources, and building their own specific network

Project objectives:
1. Increase the methodological support of members and coordinators of Municipal Youth Councils
2. Increase the awareness in the society (municipal representatives, NGOs, Policy makers) about the mission, role and activities of Youth Councils.
3. Improve the options for networking, resources and experience sharing among the Municipal Youth Councils

Target groups:
Primary target group of our project are Municipal Youth Councils – their members (young people) and their coordinators.
Secondary target group are the municipal representatives, NGO active in youth participation, policy makers.

The expected intellectual outputs of the project are:
1. Study on Youth Councils
2. Methodology for Training of Youth Councils’ Members
3. Digital Guide for Youth Council & Web Platform

In the project there is 1 training activity: Pilot training for Youth Councils’ members (18 participants) and 1 multiplier event – Final Conference (40 participants).

Expected outcomes come from the project outputs. Users of the study (local authorities, NGO representatives) will increase their awareness and knowledge about Youth Council’s mission, role and activities. Coordinators of Youth Councils and Youth workers will get knowledge how to develop personal, professional and social competencies of Youth Councils’ members. Participants of Pilot training for Youth Councils will increase their competencies in the field of communication, teamwork, motivation. Users of the Digital Guide (either direct members of Youth Councils or ad-hoc guests) will get better understanding on Youth Council work. Members of Youth Councils will get opportunity to network with other Youth Councils and share experience.

Impact: In long-term perspective this project will contribute to higher recognition of Municipal Youth Council’s work, to higher level of participation of youth on a local level and to higher efficiency and quality of Youth Councils’ work.
