Project Summary

EZT JAVÍTOM HA A MAGYARRAL RENDBEN LESZÜNK!
Youthtainability is a KA2 project proposal that has been born in Portimao November 2017, and it involves three organizations from Portugal, Slovakia and Hungary.

Needs/Problem analysis
The migration itself a very important demographic phenomenon and has an important role in population development. In Hungary after the last financial crisis we had to face with a large number of young people leaving the country for better circumstances for living and planning their life. However the migration also affects internally, and that has left a bigger impact mostly on rural areas. The impact could be described the easiest by the statistic data of the continuously lover density of those areas, and the lack of perspective in terms of development/sustainability. Compared to Hungary there are similar countries in terms of population data eg.: Portugal that shows similar trends. Slovakia has also shown similar statistic data regarding the age and reproductive rates also.

Strategic respond
The discipline of youth work and community development traditionally based on two main values in Hungary, the first is community and the second is participation. Individualization should be respected in modern ages, but that also leads to weak communities and less interaction among people, particularly young people are lacking the experience of being in communities. Youth work then aims to support and enhance the possibilities for young people to belong to communities where these young people through interaction can develop themselves as well. Participation itself is a way more larger word that usually we understand, in youth work we try to empower young people to take decision about their own lives, to feel the responsibility about themselves and then also to step forward and become a more aware and active citizen. We also believe that youth work has a large toolkit and wide methodological approach to social problems and social sustainability therefore it worth to use the benefits to catalyze changes within communities.
If the future of communities (and here understood it by localities where people live) depends on the population as well, and less and less young people lives in rural areas then there should be an answer coming from youth work sector and practitioners as well.

Aims/objectives:
– Identify the role of youth work regarding urban planning / community development and sustainability of settlements.
– Analyze the impact of improved quality of youth work at local level on human wellbeing, and sustainability.
– Create strategic partnership among different stakeholders that are seeking for better communities.
– Promote citizen’s participation particularly youth participation.

Participants:
Directly the project involves 10 people from the three countries that are members of the project team. The seminar involves extra 12 people from the field of municipal level/local youth work with different roles.

Activities
M1, M2, M3
Project meetings among the project team members. During the project there are three different meetings with different goals, that are in line with the planned activities and serve the quality of the project.

O1 and C1
Youthtainability training pack and seminar
The output and the related activity aims to produce a T-kit/booklet for stakeholders of local/municipal level youth work that they can use in their everyday work-life. The pack also include recommendations for exact activities and models/template documents for youth involvement and participation.

E1 Multiplying activities
After creating the t-kit/booklet we are planning to organize events in each country (30 pax/country), where the project and its output would be presented and also there would be a place to try out the material. During the activities we have the principles of non-formal learning ahead of us, also the self-directed
learning and methods varies from non-formal education, community development.

Results and impact
Through the implementation of the project a T-kit/Booklet will be produced in order to contribute to the quality development of municipal level/local youth work. The multilingual output will be a possibility for an easy learning process for anyone who is willing to use it. Regardless the role that
person is having in youth work.
