Project Summary
Context
All the partners operate in social and/or cultural fields and believe that the cultural aspects are crucial for a long-term inclusion in the different communities. We worked taking in consideration tangible and intangible, cultural, historical and natural heritage of each partner country. The mix and multitude of different heritage and actors ensured a cross-currical approach in the development of the different outcomes. The partnership is composed by north, East, Central, West and South EU countries.
The project has been developed reaching the following objectives:
-Creation and test of set of tools focused on the use of Heritage as instrument of training for a better inclusion.
-Innovation in cultural sectors and exchanges between operators, and cultural (public and private) institutions at any level.
-Promotion of access to local heritage sites to everyone, in order to offer the opportunity to discover the local heritge, its actors and be aware of its preservation.
-Sensitize local community in the field of equality, social cohesion, democracy, encourage cultural diversity and EU values.
-Promotion of active participation of local communities and promotion of the Participation-Action-Research methodology.
-Promote multiculturalism and breaking down of cultural stereotypes.
Participants involved in the LTAs were trainers (employees, volunteers, collaborators) from our organizations.
The participants have been selected taking in consideration different aspects and skills: language competences, willing to cooperate at international level, ability to work in international groups, activism shown during the development of activities at the local level, motivation to take part in training mobility, their professional background.
LTAs (2 International meeting for trainers)
2 meeting were run in Italy and Finland. During the first meeting participants worked on the content and design of training modules, tools and games. The second LTA has been the occasion to pilot them with local communities, with trainers, learners with different cultural, social background and different ages. 32 participants
TPMs: have been developed to ensure a proper project management. In each meeting took part 2 responsible from each partner’s country.
The 1st TPM in France has been run to define all the management aspects (agreements contracts, tasks and way how to work, agenda and calendar).
The 2nd TPM in Romania, to evaluate the status of the project’s activities and results, intermediate meeting, agenda of next meetings.
The 3rd TPM in Spain before the end of the projet to work on the evaluation of the project, preparation of final report and finalize the website and other dissemination products. 24 mobilities in total.
Methodology
At local level and during the LTAs, we adopted the Particpatory-Action-Research methodology, additionally, exchange of best practices and involvement of associated partners, experts in this field, ensured active participation of all the actors and the development of outcomes (usable, adaptable and with low costs implementation). During each activity we involved local communities and associated partners.
The project used the European examples of good practice on social inclusion and heritage management as starting point. Each partner focused its work on one particular aspect concerning cope with heritage to enhance social inclusion, in order to guarantee a wide range of activities and products. Respect and willing to support each other represented the project red-line.
Results
Development of training activities/material in the various fields, active citizenship, multiculturalism, active participation in community life and the use of ICT for social inclusion and knowledge about the European heritage.
Among the material developed there are toolboxes, guides, games, excercises, participatory activities, lesson plans.

Impact on organizations and associated partners:
-Increased the European dimension and knowledge about EU heritage
-Reinforced interaction between practice, research and policy in each national context
-Gain of experience in project management
-New European projects (Erasmus+ and Europe for citizens) realized
-Reinforcement of collaboration and local net of operators in social and cultural fields
-Creation of new local projects
-Adcquisition of competences and development of new strategies for the involvement of local communities, minorities, disadvantaged citizens
Impact on primary target group – trainers and educators:
-They renewed their frame of reference on the use of heritage to support social inclusion.
-They increased their language and management abilities.
-Better use of open educational resources.
-They had the occasion to share best practices with European colleagues, modifying attitudes, ways of work, planning of activities and strategies to involve local communities and promote local heritage.
