Project Summary

C.T.R.L (Click To Real Life)
Today, called the technology age, there are countless benefits that technology offers to our lives. However, the loss of control over the technology use of the person and the use of technology in an infinite and unlimited manner can cause serious damages called technology addiction.Technology is not addictive, we become technology addicts.
Technology addiction is an umbrella term and it contains terms such as internet addiction, game addiction, social media addiction and shopping addiction.Social media is the most common form of addiction, especially among children and young people, because it is easily accessible and widely used.
According to recent studies and rates of Eurostat,Turkish Statistical Institute and some global organisations including We Are Social show that avarage daily time spent using social media is 2h.24m. and all our partner countries’ rates of influence are over the averages. This project includes research data taken from each partners’ diagnostic tests.
Social media enter young people’s lives in a fun way and sneaks into the lives of young people. But uncontrolled, unlimited and excessive use of social media especially among young people aged 14-18 is seen as adverse effects such as non-socialization, effective communication loss, cyberbullying, tendency to violence, feeling of loneliness, depression, distractibility, low academic performance, unawareness of internet ethic rules and insensitivity to the environment
The aim of our project is to create awareness against social media addiction and to replace the pleasure of the practices and to direct the youth to the activities that will eliminate the boredom of the youth. At the point of addiction, we want to raise the awareness of the family against social media addiction especially since the family share is very high.
We want to get together to find a solution to our common problem with partners and exchange good practices by discussing face-to-face interviews, doing interactive workshops and using the learning by doing method as we don’t find online applications efficient. We intend to do this with Erasmus+ , because we find it is the best way to face this problem internationally. Day trip and excursions are aimed to cultural awareness.
The method to be used in carrying out the project is that the receiving country will organise the hosting and activities. All correspondence exchange between each grouop will be via email, eTwinning, WhatsApp and Skype, both before and after the mobilization.
The results and impact envisaged are to want our students to be able to explain that the use of technology and social networks can be a positive experience when used properly and for a limited time; to realize that there are activities that will replace the technology; to increase their communication skills amongst their peer groups; to transfer knowledge; to compare good practices; to show that learning by doing is an efficient way of learning; to learn what the EU standards are; to discover other cultures and cultural values; to lessen prejudices (if there are any); to gain perspective from false information; to get an abroad experience; to improve the use of the common foreign language of our project (English).
