Project Summary

The project “Cultural Bridges in Europe” aims to exchange best practices on rediscovering, highlighting the customs and traditions specific to each partner country and cultivating feelings of respect for national and European values that will be promoted within specific activities,will last for 24 months and will run from 01.09.2020 to 31.08.2022.Is based on the common need of the partners involved, to rediscover, conserve and promote their cultural heritage because we have found that there is a tendency to decrease the interest for promoting their own cultural heritage but also a low degree of knowledge of the culture and civilization of countries in the European space.
Objectives:O.1 The multicultural development and the improvement of the experience in the international cooperation of 88 students and 60 teachers from the 6 schools participating in the project, in the next 2 years.O.2 Promoting the cultural heritage, traditions and customs specific to each participating country through the 6 schools included in the project, in the next 2 years.O.3 Improvement of communication skills in English in 88 pupils between 10-15 and 60 teachers from the 6 schools participating in the project, in the next 2 years.O.4 Improvement of ICT skills for 88 students aged between 10-15 and 60 teachers from the 6 countries involved in the project, in the next 2 years.O.5 Stimulating creativity, critical thinking, educational management and teamwork, for 88 students aged 10-15 and 60 teachers from the 6 partner schools, until the project is completed.
6 schools are involved in this project:Scoala Gimnaziala Victoria, Romania the projects coordinator; KILIÇASLAN ORTAOKULU, Turkey;32 Primary School of Piraeus, Greece;Osnovna skola Bol, Croatia;CEIP SAN ISIDRO LABRADOR, Spain;ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO S. BAGOLINO, Italy.
The age group of the students involved is 10-15 years.Romania and Spain are located in rural areas,in economically and socially disadvantaged communities.The other 4 schools are located in the urban environment but face different social problems:students with disabilities,students of different ethnicities,students with divorced parents,etc.Romania is currently implementing an Erasmus + ka101 project,but has not been involved in Ka229 projects.Spain, Greece and Italy have implemented Ka229 projects and Turkey and Croatia have had Comenius or Erasmus projects in the past.The activities planned in accordance with the objectives of the project are the following:”Who we are?”,”We discover Turkey”,”We discover Croatia”,”We discover Greece”,”We discover Spain”,”We discover Italy”,”We discover Romania”.These are activities that will take place within the transnational exchanges,have as purpose the discovery of the cultural heritage of the host country and contain workshops in multinational groups,visiting cultural and historical objectives,traditions, customs,dances and songs,traditional foods,traditional games.The monthly local activities are the following:“Launching the project site” ,”Winter holidays in Europe for friendship” ,”March 8 – International Women’s Day”,“Sports personalities” ,”To know more, to be better”,”What is our likeness and what distinguishes us?” ,”Europe gave the world …” ,”Unique places in Europe” ,”Traditional culinary specialties” ,”Friends forever” .For all these activities we have set the target groups,objectives, expected results,evaluation tools,deadlines and responsible persons.We considered the managerial training of all aspects related to the preparation of participants for exchanges.We carefully planned the follow-up activities,with the purpose of making known the results regarding the improvement of the competences to communicate in English of the students and teachers involved in the project,the improvement of the digital,managerial skills,the increase of the students’ motivation,awareness of the cultural values,development of the feeling of European membership and the opportunity offered by the Erasmus + program in establishing transnational contacts for educational purposes.
Expected results:• Project site• The project journal “Cultural Bridges in Europe”• Encyclopedia of traditions and customs from the countries involved in the project with the title “Encyclopedia of customs and traditions in Europe”• Panels with relevant images from the activities within the transnational mobilities and/or meetings•facebook page and the creation of the eTwinning open group “Cultural Bridges in Europe”.The etwinning project “Cultural Bridges in Europe”.
Impact:The validation of this project will set in motion the teaching bodies of the 6 partner schools and the related school and local communities.beneficiaries will understand that united Europe means knowing the other, mutual respect, collaboration, tolerance and acceptance of diversity of all kinds.Schools will gain national and international prestige and will establish transnational ties.
