Project Summary
Bhutan, Nepal & Laos are facing key social problems in their development stages such as economic disparities, educational gaps & university graduates´ unemployment. All these facts hinder the countries´ development. To combat these challenges entrepreneurship (ENT) is rising in importance. Therefore, the development of a robust ecosystem for ENT on HEI campuses & beyond academic borders to foster university business cooperation is key of sustainable growth. Despite this wave of innovation, there is a lack in really disruptive & professionally developed ideas that create sustainable, yet profitable businesses to benefit the whole population. HEIs need to update their physical infrastructure &upgrading&professionalizing of teaching capacities to be able to react to current educational trends & to develop future change makers. ENCORE aims to create awareness of the concept of ENT education & development to promote innovation in HEIs in Bhutan, Nepal & Laos by integrating advanced learning tools for the creation of disruptive business ideas into existing academic structures, while strengthening the university-business collaboration through participatory schemes on a local & regional level. Results & impact envisioned:• Strengthened teaching staff capacities & student skill sets through innovative teaching & learning methodologies by offering ENT trainings • Modernized technical infrastructure of HEIs by creating, equipping & putting in operation Entrepreneurship Knowledge Centers• Enhanced HEI-Enterprise cooperation & students learning experience by developing ENT Case studies, to prepare students for innovative thinking in “real life” contexts• Greater awareness & reach of high-quality training material & publications by providing access to Open Educational Resources to regional & international academic community• Extended intern. networks in ENT education & innovation in national & intern. HE contexts by joint publications & organising the intern. conference.
