Project Summary
The CLIL-VET project aimed mainly at the support for promotion of high-quality linguistic education in vocational schools. In addition, it aimed at the promotion of improved quality of vocational education and training through the introduction of CLIL elements in vocational schools. The project subject concerned the improvement of linguistic competences within the scope of vocational education and training through the implementation of the CLIL-VET model in vocational schools. Moreover, the project outcomes contributed to the extension of open educational resources and to the promotion of access thereto, thereby to the support for the ICT-based education. The partnership strived for the development, transfer and implementation of innovative practices, as well as joint initiatives promoting cooperation and exchange of experience at the European level within the scope of training for teachers in vocational schools. Diverse institutions belonging to the partnership allowed to share different experience and specialised knowledge, as well as to achieve high-quality results through the development of common framework for teachers in vocational schools and a set of CLIL timetables. The project outcomes contributed to the development of skills and qualifications of teachers in European vocational schools. The CLIL-VET project addressed to teachers of vocational schools and training institutions focused on:
• comparative analysis of the CLIL application in European vocational schools
• development of the CLIL-VET framework for the preparation and application of the CLIL methodology in vocational schools;
• preparation of methodical workshops for teachers about the CLIL methodology application in vocational schools,
• development of CLIL timetables for vocational schools within the scope of electricity and construction engineering, services and economy, administration and marketing, science and IT,
• preparation of a multimedia base of teaching materials for teachers in vocational schools,
• development of the European CLIL-VET network.
All project outcomes were widely disseminated, while a free access thereto is ensured due to the multimedia CLIL-VET database, development of the European CLIL-VET network, organisation of an international conference, and publication “CLIL in Modern Europe: Challenges and Threats”.
