Project Summary

European countries are facing a new challenge, the aging of the population, with 40% of the population over 50 in 2017. Added to the increase of the competitivity on the labour market, discriminations are appearing (including discrimination because of age).
The overall objective of the IVI project is to develop and demonstrate an innovative e-learning platform. The Intergenerational Virtual Incubator will provide access to a matching platform to create youth/senior tandem of entrepreneurs. It will also deliver a high-quality training on intergenerational working and co creation of enterprise along with entrepreneurship skills for youth and seniors. A trainer toolkit will be available for trainers to support the tandems in the creation process.

The project focuses on three specific target groups: every youth and seniors willing to create a business, trainers working with seniors and youth on entrepreneurship.

The project will answer at least 4 serious needs in the EU community:
– The need to tackle the challenge of the aging of the population in Europe, by allowing the elderly to stay socially and economically active through entrepreneurship.
– The need to allow youth to believe in their ideas, and to give them tools and skills to make their innovative ideas pop up and increase their competitiveness on the labour market on a long-term basis.
– The need to elaborate an open guide to help NGOs professionals working with seniors and/or youth on entrepreneurship.
– The constant evolution in the society and thus the need of innovation as much socially as economically.

An important number of results and impacts will be generated by the implementation of the IVI project. The most significant are:
– The launch of the Intergenerational Virtual Incubator, with high-quality courses about the overall aspects of entrepreneurship (leadership, marketing, economy, strategy, investment, etc.) and an innovative pedagogical strategy adapted to the different targets.
– The creation of an innovative matching tool to gather ideas, competences and personalities between youth and seniors,
– Advices for intergenerational work and exchanges,
– The development of a special toolkit for NGOs, on intergenerational co creation of business and education of people including guideline and training session,
– Reduction of the gap between generations and discrimination in the society,
– Rise of the skills and competences of the population and an added value in European economy and business with the creation of several companies,
– 18 tandem of youth and seniors in three European country which will have followed the training programme,
– 75 new NGOs and 1800 youth and seniors who will know about the platform and will be able to use it,
– An international visibility with a website and more than 1000 visitors intended.

The project’s implementation is built around 7 “Work Package” (WP): WP1 Educational methodology, WP2 development of innovative modules for trainees, WP3 development of an innovative toolkit for the trainers, WP4 development of the IT tools, WP5 experimentation and launch of the Intergenerational Virtual Incubator, WP6 dissemination and exploitation, WP7 project management and quality control. 4 Intellectual outputs will be produced as a result of these activities. 4 Multiplier events and 7 transnational management meetings will be organised to ensure dissemination of the project and the good proceeding.
The background, network and involvement of all the partners in the project will also ensure the smooth course of the project planning along with its large spreading and sustainability.
