Project Summary

EUROPEAN HAIRDRESSERS, strategic partnership project within which we created three very useful auxiliaries to be used for Hairdressers qualification and through them and training activities we developed high quality skills and competences of the students becoming hairdressers through international exchange of practices and collaborations with hairdressers’ salons and VET providers in partner countries. In this took part 6 partners from 6 countries, 5 VET providers and the 6th partners is a Hairdressing salon, representing an actor on the labour market.
The project also includes the partnerships with some organizations on the labour market in the domain of hairdressing. Through project activities and partners cooperation we improved the employment opportunities of the graduators of such qualification by giving them the possibility to get in touch with the requirements of the international labour market in the domain as they managed to develop the international high quality skills and competences required by actors on the international labour market.
Our main objectives were:
1. To improve the skills and the competences of the Hairdressing qualification course trainees by getting them in touch with European labour market actors in the domain.
2. To improve the Hairdressing qualification course by adding to it new created auxiliaries.
3. To increase chances of the trainees to get employed by offering them quality training which will make them competitive on the European Labour Market;
4. To develop partnerships on the local, national and international level and working agreements between VET providers and actors on the labour market (Hairdressers’, in our case).
Increasing the chances of our trainees to get a job we contributed to decreasing unemployment in our areas which is the most common problem in all partner countries.
The project addressed to those who were working in the field of Hairdressing and had no qualiification, people in risk to get unemployed, people looking for a qualification, but also VET graduators who wanted to get a qualification, to become a hairdresser.
Within the project we created three intellectual outputs:
1. „Want to be an internationally good hairdresser? Get informed!” – a auxiliary describing the requirements of hairdresser’s in the partners’ countries
2. Online Hairdressers’ diary – describing professional experiences of the participants during their international exchanges
3. One Internatioanal evaluation guide for Hairdressers
All three were created by all partners in common, in English, uploaded to the website of the project and then translated by each partner in their national language.
The innovative component of our project is the extension of the existing national qualification course of Hairdressers in all partner countries to an international level by creating three auxiliary materials to help trainees to prepare themselves to be internationally qualified and appreciated.
This project had the following main activities
– 2 Short-term trainings for trainers
– 1 Creating the auxiliary „Want to be an internationally good hairdresser? Get informed!”
– 2 Multiplier Events
– 4 Blended mobilities for learners
– 1 Online Hairdressers’ diary
– 1 Internatioanal evaluation guide for Hairdressers
– 5 Project meetings

All the outputs created within this project are created for the wide use within the hairdressers qualification course provided not only by the institutions involved in the activities of the project but by as many VET providers as possible. All outputs and results developed during that project, are accessible for free as they can be accessed on the website of our project https://internationalhairdressers.com/outputs . The free access to the intellectual outputs of the project is constantly widely promoted.
