Project Summary
“ToLERaNce” is a 24-month Capacity Building in the Field of Youth project, involving six organisations from Europe (Romania, Bulgaria and Italy) and Africa (Kenya, Senegal and South Africa). “ToLERaNce” Consortium is composed of youth organisations, experienced in non-formal education and alternative forms of learning committed to the frame of empowering young people, who are with fewer opportunities. All Partner Organisations work with young people from vulnerable groups inclined to suffer from different types of discrimination. The present project is the result of partners’ shared concern about the increasing social injustices towards young people from different minorities. Through the extensive research we conducted on national, European and world policies, recommendations and researchers regarding human rights violation, the Partner Consortium noticed the continuous growth of intolerance, discrimination, racism, extremism, and other forms of inhumane acts, which unfortunately mostly affect the young people in our society, as nowadays, we are used to hearing about bullying at school, hate speech and acts against migrants and episodes of violence in which young people are protagonist. We, the Project partners, believe that all young people, regardless of their religion, sexual orientation, nationality, language, etc. have the right to a harmonious development, and it is our responsibility and objective to ensure that. It is our objective to prevent the violation of their human rights; to support them join ‘adults’ life as self-confident and active citizens and to work towards the development of tolerant and inclusive societies. “ToLERaNce” aims to develop, test and spread an innovative human rights training module, based on non-formal learning methodology. To reach the project aims and objectives, our Partner Consortium has planned the following activities: Kick-Off Meeting, Training Course, Leader’s Midterm Meeting, Job Shadowing, Awareness Raising Campaign, Youth Exchange and at the end the Closing Meeting. Through all these activities activities “ToLERaNce” will create a set of tangible outcomes which will have a substantial impact on Youth, Partner organisations, local societies and relevant stakeholders. Outcomes such as webpage Handbook “Good practices of campaigns promoting human rights”, “ToLERaNce” Training Program, useful tools, national and general study and videos, will allow the project to have a long-term impact on the target groups and to bring sustainable impact beyond the project’s lifetime and beyond the organisations and the stakeholders closely related to the project.
