Project Summary

Teachers from five small rural schools from Estonia, Spain, Greece, the UK and Turkey (55 teachers and 615 students aged 4-14) are studying a new approach for both teaching and learning to help our pupils to achieve 21st century skills like creativity, communication, collaboration, digital competences, critical thinking and personal responsibility.

Teachers from all partner schools realise the need of bringing new innovation in our classrooms and are willing to learn and try something new. We believe that use of augmented and virtual reality in learning process will support pupils’ achievement concerning basic skills as they allow to use multiple intelligences and thus make learning more enjoyable and pupils motivated.

Objectives we would like to achieve:
– increased student motivation and satisfaction (= happiness at school)
– better student performance (test results etc)
– Increased students’ physical activity in lessons
– improving students’ digital literacy
– improved foreign language communicative skills (both students and teachers)
– increased teacher self-confidence in the field of using AR/VR in the classroom

To meet these objectives, we will have two short-term staff training events to learn how to use different AR/VR platforms (Metaverse, CoSpaces, ClassVR). We will also have three short-term exchanges of pupils where students will work in multinational teams, communicate with peers from other countries and learn about other cultures and traditions.

We are sure that after the two project years AR and VR will remain tools that are used in our lessons on a regular basis.
Creating an eTwinning group will help us share our experience and materials with teachers from all over Europe. This makes it possible for teachers in other schools to use our materials in their own teaching.

This project will also activate parents and members of the local community. The experiences of the children will be transferred to their families and the attitude of all community members will become more positive in terms of diversity and multiculturalism. The attitude that people have towards new technology will also get more acceptance.

We are sure that the partner schools of this project will continue working together one way or the other also after this project. In the future we will continue using the good practices that we have learned from each other and refine those practices in our own schools.
