Project Summary

The project “Raising students’ awareness of violence against women” tackles the theme of gender-based violence and analyses how students and more generally the populations of the two countriesare made aware of it, as well as how the issue impacts society and how students become aware ofthis scourge. Its main goal is therefore to exchange good practices. The goals we wish to reach with this project are the following:- To let students know the different associations that fight gender-based violence- To establish links to communicate and cooperate at the local and European levels and toprovide help for the various local associations- To inform schools, teachers and local institutions of the findings of the project and theactivities developed during its course- To strengthen the links between the two schools involved in the project- In each school about 18 students aged 15-16 will participateThe project will be punctuated by mobility activities in the partner countries and learning activities ineach country. In order to plan the various activities, to get informed of the realities of each country andeach school involved, two transnational meetings will be organized.During the mobility activities, the students will attend their partners’ classes. The activities will focusmainly on visiting associations and schools; they will lead to comparative studies on how gender-based violence is tackled and what initiatives are proposed. The measures implemented in the twocountries will thus be analysed as well as how students’ awareness is raised in each.- Several surveys will be carried out in the schools and the associations so as to collect informationthat will be spread throughout the year on the project diary. The findings will be published in Spanishand in French.- A graphic charter of the project will be made and printed on tee-shirts that students can wear whenthey meet the various associations involved in the project.- An online magazine will be created showing the activities organized in the two countries onInternational Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.- A brochure offering a summary will be used to make the project known.- Exhibitions on the findings of the project will be held in the schools. The expected results and impacts are : to enhance the students’ and teachers’ transversal, social, digital and linguistic skills as well as and above all to make the different associations dedicated to thefight against gender-based violence better known in order to inform students, the educationalcommunity and the cities involved in this fight and to raise their awareness. Detailed reports will begiven to all the participants and broadcast on the schools’ websites. We wish this project will inducethe different schools to inform students, parents and more generally the whole educational communityand raise their awareness of how important prevention is to fight against this scourge. In the long run we would like to keep in close touch with the associations and to perpetuate theawareness activities in the schools as well as to keep taking an active part in the activities theyimplement. The project “Raising students’ awareness of violence against women” will also allow toperpetuate the partnership between the two schools and the two regions, namely the Besançonacademy and the Principality of Asturia
