Project Summary

The project is to be implemented in a village in Podkarpacie,a small town in Germany and the capital city of Croatia. After the analysis of the probl. faced by all partner schools the main targets of the proj. activities were formulated.Common problem is the lack of motivation among students to use English lg.It was concluded that the desire to communicate in Eng. for students aged 12-14 from 3 schools is small.Eng. lessons that are conducted in a modern way do not bring enough effects. The students’ knowledge cannot be used outside of school, hence there is a lack of interest in communication. This project is the answer and solution to this probl.Partner schools were chosen so that thanks to their diversity, students can see that the problem is universal, although the situation of schools is different.By working with partners we want to show students that Eng. lg is more than a subject,it is a communication tool that allows you to acquire friends, learn, grow and then study and work abroad.Active communic. in Eng. supports the development of tolerance,is a mechanism that connects cultures, can contribute to the fight against racism and xenophobia. Therefore, the aim of the project is to motivate students aged 12-14 to communicate in a foreign lg.This goal is feasible and gives the opportunity to make a lasting change after the end of the project.Without this European partnership, this goal would not be achieved.Cooperating with the tourist metropolis of Zagreb, students from small schools will see positive effects stemming from the practical knowledge of Eng. which affects the economy of the country. Thanks to the cooperation with the school in Germany, where the process of assimilation of national minorities among students is an important topic,it will be possible to observe how practical communication in Eng. improves the process of acquiring knowledge and assimilating in a class environment, especially for students who are refugees. The participants of the projects will be different students, aged 12-14.In the foreign trips, students who are most involved in specific local projects(5pupils from each school),will take part. The results of the activities will be published on the platform of project results and the school and eTwinning website,to download for free.First, pupils will prepare presentations about their schools, countries etc.During the meeting in Poland, the effects of that work will be presented. To integrate students,we will organize national sports competition, regional cuisine tasting etcThen students will prepare brochures about schools and countries.During subsequent local activities pupils will create phrasebooks in their native languages and Eng.Glossaries will later facilitate their cooperation and communication, they will be important tools for the implementation of city games in Croatia.Next local activity will be the presentations,in which the students will share information about what positives the proj. brought in their lives, how/if it contributed to the motivation to improve communication in Eng.What does it mean to be a Pole,German,Croatian-European.They will create a script for a film, which will be made together by all students in Germany, based on the knowledge and experience that they gained from the project. The element combining all activities is practical use of English. The methodology used in the project is active participation, learning from each other, self-presentation,creative projects,IT,learning through the project. Thanks to international activities, solving the diagnosed problem and working with students will take on the European dimension, knowledge will be transferredThe result of the project activities is to make students realize that learning a lg is not learning for a test, but a practical use of acquired skills.Receiving funds for this proj. will guarantee the effectiveness of the arranged actions and the achievement of the planned results. Thanks to the cooperation, students will realize that learning Eng means learning communication,a skill that is useful everywhere.Getting to know peers from the EU,solving tasks with them will make students aware that practicing speaking is a necessity in EU.Thanks to this, students will gain motivation to learn communication in Eng. and thus achieve the main goal of the project.Teachers will also benefit from exchanging experiences with colleagues from abroad. Not only activities in this proj. will lead us to the result.Simultaneously,we will be implementing the eTwinning proj, combining both activities. After end of the proj,we will continue to work on the eTwinning website, encouraging students to communicate. To ensure the sustainability of the proj. results based on the motivation and knowledge gained by our students,it is planned in all schools to introduce a bilingual system of learning. In the proj. will participate weak and talented students aged12-14. In the local activities will participate up to:18 Polish students,40 in Croatia,31 in Germany.
