Project Summary

César Bona (finalist of the Nobel Prize in Education) and his following statement served as inspiration for this project: “The biggest challenge for education today is the teaching of our students in a 21st century environment, so the doors “.” The school must be open not only to let our students in, but also to leave their ideas behind.
In this way, our IES José Luis López Aranguren of Fuienlabrada is the leading partner of the project of exchange of good practices of two years in which it deals with the innovative competences and it is an exchange of good practices of two centers of a new nature, on the one hand, a center in a disadvantaged area such as the Aranguren and, on the other, a high-level center such as the center Mykolo Birziskos gimnazija of Vilnius in Lithuania. Therefore, it is a project in which both centers will learn from each other as our center will be a reference in the reception of students of different nationalities and will have much to contribute to the Lithuanian center while this center can help us in the development of the competences Innovative teachers working with different methodologies. In addition, our students and teachers have been active participants in the development of their creative abilities through the activities that are developed in the way they are treated in the centers in the way that it is a set of students and language teachers and Spanish to work on their basic skills in English and working in a holistic way all subjects with a reference group and activities have been carried out in the two centers that have been recognized in a descriptive blog of the project, as well as on our web page. project (Description the center and its Autonomous Community, visit to the different media of the same and the works on it and the history of the last countries, the visits to the NGOs that work with the parents, the video, the presentations of our students, the social environment and habits, the intercultural cookbook, a methodological guide on learning activities outside the classroom, et do.)

Many people decided to carry out this project in order to improve the skills of our students, as well as promote the exchange between students and staff of very different educational centers in countries with great cultural differences such as Spain and Lithuania. We really liked our project.
IES José Luis López Aranguren is located in a middle class area just outside Fuenlabrada (Madrid), while Vilnius students are one of the 5 best secondary schools in Lithuania.

The main objective of the project has been the exchange of experiences.
The methodology is the essential aspect of our project, and the writing of the cooperative work.
Therefore, this project has increased the possibility of knowing the context of bilateral cooperation and the different teaching methods and has allowed all the participants (teachers and students) to be able to implement different methodologies with our Lithuanian colleagues.
The objectives and results we have established for this association have been evaluated; Taking into account several indicators within the following areas of work: European citizenship, language learning, intercultural awareness, innovative teaching and learning media, use of ICT, etc.

Among the tangible results of the project, we can mention:

– A summary of the methodological material developed for the project.
