Project Summary
The streets of my town aim to be a continuation of our European Project KA1 “Highway to Europe” which our teachers are carrying out observations and structured courses in European schools, fulfilling our objective of internationalization of our educational centre to Europe. Because of that, we have set ourselves the following objectives:
Promote meaningful learning in the students who participate.
Include the students of each centre in the study of the streets of the town through different subjects. The study will be wide and diverse, being able to treat from a historical perspective, of equally according to the names of the streets, mathematical according to the disposition of the streets, etc.
Put into practice some of the new methodologies learned in our observations and experiences of the Erasmus KA1 project, to develop the different activities of the project, with students and teachers from other educational centres.
Establish relationships with other European centres through joint activities and student mobility, good practices, while we consolidate a communication and cooperation network.
Promote the learning of foreign languages. English will be the common language of all schools, which will positively influence the bilingual development of our students.
Know and spread our culture. Through the study of the streets of the town, each educational centre will discover cultural aspects of its town. It will share them with the rest of the centres, which will also allow it to know other aspects from other European areas.
Publicize our work at the local level, being able to contribute to the development of the town through cultural activities carried out by the students.
The expected results are the significant learning of our students, through the different subjects of our curriculum, with a variety of activities which allow them, in addition to learning content, a deep interest in the foreign languages studied in the other schools (English, French and Spanish).
In addition, to holding them responsible for the proper use of new technologies, promoting collaborative and project-based learning. All this will contribute to their closest environment with the proposals that the students make to the local municipalities based on their ideas (proposals for names of new streets, the exhibition of activities carried out). These objectives are directly related to the proposed priorities: that the students know their culture, appreciate it and share it with others, so that we all know ourselves a little better, and help to build a common Europe based on our particular identities, enriching all of us, not only with knowledge but also using a common language that unites us and opens borders for us to become more and more competent citizens.
