Project Summary
The project “The use of modern technologies to support the oenological sector in Europe” aimed at developing oenological education in accordance with the latest international standards and the idea of permaculture, through the development of a comprehensive Enologic Knowledge Base. As part of the database, a vocational education and training course was prepared for future enologists, wine-growers and winemakers.
The following goals have been defined to achieve the project:
1. facilitating access to knowledge and skills in the field of viticulture and wine production in accordance with the laws of nature (permaculture)
2. improving the quality of education in the oenological industry in line with international standards and methods based on work
3. raising the professional qualifications of working people, trainers as well as staff and experts of the oenological industry
4. improving the quality of wine services provided, thanks to the implementation of cooperation with foreign partners and the implementation of good practices
5. establishing permanent international cooperation based on mutual benefits, combined with foreign practices between partners, enriched with exchange of experience and good practices
The project was implemented by 7 institutions, ie:
X- Event Sp. z o.o. – training company
University of Agriculture Hugo Kołłątaj in Krakow – university
Mendelova Univerzita v Brne; Czech Republic – a university
X-Vin; Hungary – one of the best wine producers in Hungary
Małopolska Winemakers’ Association – an association of wine producers
DITHEKET; Cyprus – Cypriot association of wine villages
DS Penina d.o.o .; Slovenia – producer of sparkling wines
During the project, training was carried out, substantive materials were prepared and a pilot course based on substantive materials placed in the Knowledge Base of Winiarska was carried out.
Knowledge Base, which is the main result, contains substantive materials in the form of 3 modules concerning grapevine, vineyard and vinification and a handbook for the analysis of weather phenomena in the vineyard with mobile application and disease models. The learning process has been enriched with modern tools (application supporting the learning process, films, infographs, animations, etc.), using educational techniques (such as mnemonics) and a dictionary of wine concepts.
In addition to the results of the intellectual work described below, the following “hard” results were achieved during the project implementation:
– project website – containing basic information about the project, its objectives, assumptions, as well as about Polish and foreign partners, their role in the project, etc. The website contains and will continue to publish materials and news and articles.
– information and promotion banners (digital version) – promoting the Erasmus + project and program
– a fanpage of the project in the social media that gathers a growing number of people.
The project brought a lot of benefits to the people who participate in it, as evidenced by evaluation surveys.
