Project Summary

According to the report of European Commission (Eurobarometer survey/December 2017), while %60 of respondents mention that they live in a historic environment, %37 of them don’t even visit or include cultural activities related to their historical roots in Europe.People involving any kind of CH activity rates are so low In Poland(%35),Portugal(%29),Greece(%44) and Czech Rep(%32). Turkish people have also limited knowledge about not only European countries’ CH but also their own cultural and historical values. These numeric values make our project about CULTURAL HERİTAGE essential. Our aim is to:
*create a common identity
*create a flow of information by seeing and living it in order to let the students have a united cultural and historical heritage understanding via designing, creating, coloring, burying and digging artifacts; singing songs, cooking traditional dishes of each participating country; taking part in a photo exhibition, taking photos of historical, cultural and natural places, creating a monument,
*explore the concept of common world heritage and its implications worldwide; the respect and solidarity between distinct cultural identities,
*create a cultural heritage awareness
*identify, characterize and define the cultural heritages of their own country and the participating countries
*link the past with the future via different cultural activities
*create a European citizenship consciousness
*increase the awareness of different languages
*work with people coming from different cultures and create a common working platform
*increase and strenghten the international network of the participating schools
To realize these aims, we will make 5 flows and 10 local activities during the project. And there will be some concrete results such as;
e-Book
International Recipe e-Book
Young Hands on Old Lands Corner
Cultural Heritage Club
Drama Club
Young Hands on Old Lands Monument
Musical Festival
Cultural Heritage Day
Thanks to this project, students will be more motivated about CH and more willing to take part in LTT process actively. They will be aware of being EU citizen by cooperating and communicating with other students from different countries. With the LTT activities and contests which will be carried out, students will gain new points of views, cooperate with people with different cultures, form teams, express themselves .During LTTs we will especially prefer seeing and doing, living and
learning, cooperative learning, analytical thinking, creativity encouregement, peer learning and teaching and rewarding methods. Teachers will learn about creative drama teaching method in LTT activities, thus they can contribute to more qualified learning/teaching situations. While deciding on the partner countries, it is important to choose countries which are more suitable to exchange of good practices.Turkey uses “Drama” to create cultural awareness; in Czechia,
common CH values are given via “Man&Society”lesson, in Poland, students learn traditional songs; In Greece, students link cultural heritage to today via handmade crafts and traditional dances; in Portugal, students have “Integration ans Citizenship” and “The Sense of Culture and Aesthetics” classes. We want to combine all these studies and efforts of participating schools via our project. All the countries will have equal roles within our project and help Czechia, coordinating country, in order to manage a succesfull project.
In LTTs; there will be 59 students, 25 companion teachers and 8 teachers (for short-term joint staff training) and we plan to implicate 150 students in local activities.
The teachers that attended the first LTT in Turkey will learn “creative drama method” and during the project, they will teach this method to other teachers of all participating schools and all the teachers will use it in all subjects and classes in their schools by the help of” Drama Club”. Also “Cultural Heritage Club” that will be established as a result of our project’s activities will go on designing, creating, coloring and burying the artifacts every year. These buried clay artifacts will be dug out every year on the chosen day in September too; in order to go on increasing cultural heritage awareness.
Also E-twinning projects will go on after the end of our project in order to supply sustainability and these E-twinning projects will benefit from the results of our project such as “Drama Club” ,”Cultural Heritage Club” and “Young Hands on Old Lands Corner” activities every year.
