Project Summary

A two-year project ‘LOGIC and MATHS’ was accomplished in school partnership of Zespół Szkół w Lubostroniu” (Poland) – the coordinator and Istituto Comprensivo “G Pascoli” in Riolo Terme and Casola Valsenio (Italy) -the partner. 140 Polish and 400 Italian participants at the age of 3-16 benefited directly from the project. There were numerous activities taking place on various levels of education. The project actions resulted in increase of key competences of participants, in accordance with participant’s abilities. The project supported creativity, logical thinking and abstract reasoning. Teachers exchanged experience with respect to teaching methods in science, esp. mathematics. The project helped to improve the quality of teaching and implementation of innovative methods. The international character of the project was the asset. We did 51 mobilities during three Learning /Teaching /Training visits and two Transnational Meetings of school staff. The main project activities include: workshops and trainings, contests for different levels of competence (lokally or even internationally during visits or via Skype), open meetings, creation of games and actions with respect to the project topic: ‘LOGIC and MATHS’, f. ex. organization of π Day and ‘Project activity stands’ accessible for all pupils. The participants, both teachers and students, attended science and language classes and make observations. The project gave input to raising interest in mathematics, physics, chemistry and in development of practical skills. The increase of knowledge by students was confirmed by the results of external exams in English. The way of thinking according to awarnes European cultural diversity and its understanding changed positively. Thanks to the project many students acquire knowledge significantly more consciously: not for school marks but for their own benefits.
